Altamont West Hotel Declared PSOJ Awardee for 2007.

Montego Bay, Jamaica – The Altamont West Hotel has recently been named a recipient of the “Job Creation Award” for the year 2007, as hosted by Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ).

The PSOJ is a voluntary national organization of approximately 330 private sector associations, companies, and individuals working together to promote a healthy and productive private sector. The Job Creation Awards was conceived by the PSOJ Economic Committee in order to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship and to recognize and celebrate the successful achievements of companies that have been contributing to the country’s economy through the creation of sustainable jobs.

There are three categories of the awards: The “Small Business Award,” which recognizes companies that have created at least five jobs in the last year; the “Companies in Operation for Over 40 Years,”  which recognizes companies that have been creating jobs for a sustained period, and highlights their support for job retention; and the “Job Creation Award,” which the hotel received, which recognizes companies and entrepreneurs who have made new investments and have created a minimum of 25 new employment opportunities within the last 12 months.

The Altamont West Hotel’s widely renowned and multi-awarded restaurant, “Wine with Me” has also been a recipient of the said award.
