Winner of the 2007 Award for Best New Restaurant, Come Wine with Me is the brainchild of one of society queen, Cecile Levee. It is the first and only wine bar of its kind in Montego Bay, and offers a host of gourmet dishes complemented by a vast wine cellar.
Managed by Levee herself, the restaurant sports an air that is warm and welcoming, and draws not just the serious wine connoisseurs, but aims to attract those looking for a great meal paired with the perfect wine.
Spanning over 1,300 square feet, the restaurant sports a “mod” vibe in its furnishings—with wine-red banquettes, orange sofas, walls that are a riot of color—a somber grey mixing with bright pinks and vibrant reds.
Somber as the grey walls may sound, guests soon find that they actually serve a purpose—they double up as a message board of sorts, where diners can leave word of their dining experience. Those with a little less bravado can likewise leave word via the “Speak your Mind” mailbox found by the exit.
House specialties include tuna carpaccio with a crispy caper dressing, warm camembert with sautéed grapes, cheese and honey-roasted pear with thyme jus dressing, and sea scallops paired sautéed grapes. Of course, these innovative and simultaneously sumptuous dishes come paired with nothing but the best vintage—Pinot Noir, Gevrey Chambertin, and Sauvignon Blanc, among others.
Should there be occasions when that gorgeous bottle (or two) that accompanied your meal remains unfinished, Wine with Me’s highly trained and competent staff will be more than glad to cork the bottle, label it with your name, and keep it until such time you come back to consume it. And once your sumptuous meal is done, a black box labeled “The Damage” is brought to your table.
